Candle Care
Why we love beeswax
- Beeswax is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, biodegradable
- Beeswax candles emit negative ions. The negative ions help pull impurities (dust, dirt, pet dander) out of the air, reducing the level of air pollutants and irritants in the air you breathe. Perfect for allergy suffers
- Beeswax candles burn clean with little to no soot
- When you purchase our beeswax products, you are supporting our Australian bee farmer who colonize and encourage bee reproduction
Caring for your Twinkling Tabletops candles
Our candles are lovingly hand poured in Australia by our team of Twinkling Tabletops artisans.
Here are some instructions which will help you enjoy our beautiful candles while remaining safe:
Before burning:
- Remove all packaging & decoration
- For our dinner & taper candles – ensure they are secure & upright in a candle holder before lighting
- Do not burn in direct sunlight or near any source of heat
- Always place your candle on a fire safe, heat resistant surfaces away from flammable objects
- Keep candles away from drafts, this can lead to rapid, uneven burning & excessive dripping
- Bloom – beeswax produces a natural tannin that coats the surface with a whitish film. This can be removed by gently rubbing the surface with a cloth or your fingers
Whilst burning:
- Due to the width of our pillar candles, for its first burn this candles needs to be lit for no less than 3 hours followed by the turning in of the soft side walls of pillar. Subsequent burns will need to be approx 2 hours at a time, be sure to trim the wick and turn in soft side walls every 2 hours. (You will need to burn this candle it until it reaches the outside edge of the candle)
- Exercise caution around naked flames ensuring that you don’t lean over candles. Hair & clothing should be kept away from candles at all times
- Never move when lit
- Always burn within sight, never leave unattended
- Keep away from children and pets
- Trim wicks between each use
- Always leave 3 inches between burning candles
Extinguishing:
- Do not allow the candle to burn all the way down and extinguish before it burns into the holder
- Never leave unattended, if you are leaving the room for any reason- always extinguish
- Use a candle snuffer or extinguish by bending wick into wax pool and stand wick -upright directly
- Never use water to extinguish a candle, this may cause hot wax to splatter
- Ensure sure the candle is completely out and the wick ember is no longer glowing before moving or touching the candle
